Our boarding kennels are split into three main areas; two areas are dedicated to caring for larger breeds and the third to caring for the smaller breeds. We provide dogs with their own beds and comfortable blankets; however we can also carpet an area of the kennel and provide your dog with soft floor bedding as an alternative. All kennels are divided to provide your dog with spacious indoor and outdoor accommodation so each individual kennel has its own outside run.
There are eleven large outdoor exercise runs adjoining the kennels, which are safe and secure, allowing each dog to be exercised four times daily. In addition to these exercise runs, Old Clayton has a large paddock where we take dogs for their walk in the afternoon; this includes off lead exercise in a totally enclosed and secure large grass run, to ensure they have plenty of exercise during their stay.
All dogs are fed their home diet exactly as they would have it at home. We stock most foods, however, if your dog has a prescription diet you will need to bring in their food, and more unusual diets may need to be pre-ordered.
If you would like your dog to have a friend while they stay with us we try to mix two dogs together. All mixing is done extremely carefully and we make sure that all dogs are matched according to size, temperament, age and of course ensuring they are spayed or neutered. We leave any decision regarding the mixing of dogs to you their owners, however if you are confident they get on well with other dogs, we feel it makes their stay more enjoyable to share with a friend.
All our staff are fully trained in administering medication, and any medication that dogs are given during their stay is carefully monitored.
Our oil fired central heating system operates throughout the kennels during the winter months and on cold summer evenings.
Day Boarding
We also offer a day only boarding service so you can leave your dogs with us in the morning and collect them again before we close at 6:00pm.
